and while much progress has been made, there is stll so much to be
done. Think about these statstcs:
One in three women worldwide have experienced violence from an
intmate partner;
Every two seconds a girl under the age of eighteen gets married;
Every minute six girls are at risk of undergoing female genital mutlaton.
These challenges won’t go away overnight, so it’s up to you to help change these statstcs, which is why
Africa4Her 2019 will be focused on addressing gender-based violence (GBV).
GBV is not just something experienced by women. GBV is any type of violence that is directed at an
individual based on his or her gender. And that’s why we need everyone’s help to put a stop to it.
