In the spring of
2016, I sat down
with Vivian and Hui
in their room, and
the conversation
turned to the
inequality that we
had seen and experienced in
school as well as in the world. I
didn’t know who pointed it out
first, but one of us expressed the
wish that there was a space we
could go to for supporting each
other, learning and working for
changes. At the beginning of our
Junior year, We started a Feminist
Club with very broad ideas of
what we hoped to achieve. I know
I was looking for a format where
discussions that would challenge
myself and others. Additionally,
we hoped to empower people
to take action in both big and
small ways. Our club has held
discussions on topics such as sex
education, women in media,
male feminists, etc. We are really
glad we built and presented this
platform to other students.
