An NRL players life is just like anyone else's life, “They work, They rest and they play” often NRL players study and work other jobs outside the NRL. The NRL is also now encouraging all players to either get an apprenticeship, go to university or be studying while they are playing in the youth NRL so that if they have an injury or for some reason they cannot get drafted into an NRL team they have a back up. A NRL player has an intense training program and games nearly every week. This takes up majority of their time there is also travel to and from the events, Often they will have to catch planes and have very long bus trips to get to there playing ground for instance the Manly Sea Eagles will often have to travel to New Zealand or Melbourne to play their matches which takes quite some time.

The media is un-doutably a big part of any sports person’s life and can have good and bad influences. The media is only after views and publicity so they often “Tinker” the headlines to get more publicity, this often results very bad for the players and can lead to mental problems. The media often only deliver the bad news because it is more controversial and it will get more attention. Not too long ago the main headlines were “Rugby league community still reeling from the suicides of five young players in two years” it was also Cameron Smith's 40th Origin Game which is nearing some of the great legends records of Origins games, The media could have used both of these for the headlines but the decided to choose the death of young league players because it would get more appeal to their audience. Never listen to the media and what they say, Just remember they are only trying to draw you in.
