Johnathan Thurston ruled out of his final origin game with shoulder surgery. After playing 24 origin games and kicking the winning goal to send the series into a deciders JT has been ruled out of his retirement origin game. Coming into the maroons five-eighth position is Cameron Munsta. He is a young talent with a incredibly bright future ahead off him. For the first time in State of origin history a team has had a different halve combination in all games. Having Munsta in the team is a huge advantage because this means that the whole spine of the team (hooker, halfback, five-eighth and fullback) is from one team in the NRL.
