The area to be treated is first numbed, using a topical
anaesthetic cream. A few drops of Botox are then
superficially injected with a tiny needle under the
skin, causing a stinging sensation that lasts a few
seconds. Lying down or massaging the treated area is
to be avoided for four hours after treatment, with no
exercise for the first 24 hours.
Most patients resume normal activity immediately
after treatment.
