ADJUSTMENT OF THE LEARNING SPACE ACCORDING TO THE CHILD S NEEDS
A method that facilitates an easier adaptation of the child to the kindergarten is also the setting of the
environment. When the environment is welcoming, warm, clean, beautifully arranged to stir the curiosity of the
child, thus the children can easily separate from their parents. The class where a child enters must delight
him with light, bright colors, vividly colored through the materials made available (toys, creative materials,
disguises, slides, swings, etc.), but also things that children already know from home. These materials, as
well as their location, must be safe from the point of view of the protection offered to remove the risk of injury
as much as possible. If a child is injured during his/her adaptation period, his/her confidence formed in
kindergarten decreases, taking a step back in his/her integration into the environment. To make it easier, the
kindergarten environment has to offer everything that is needed to the children, to make it look as much as
possible like a playground and to bring a drop of warmth of their home environment..
This is a method to be used throughout the years and it is an artifice to attract children more than a method
itself. A child's integration is slow, by gradually making materials available, without distressing or overloading
the child, taking into account the age and points of attraction that differ from one age to another.
Warm, appealing, brightly colored environment will make it easier for a child to move from the home
environment, to which he is accustomed, to a foreign one.
In an environment with known, appealing objects, the child will not coldly remove from his parents but will be
captured by the beauty of things and the time spent there will seem shorter so the adaptation will be implicitly
easier.
