TECHNIQUES AND METHODOLOGY OF ADAPTATION PROBLEM AND SCHOOL FEAR Examples from the process Example 11 - Bulgaria THE PUPPET THEATRE AND MAKING PUPPETS The puppet theatre is the form of art closest to the child, as its roots are in childhood. The puppet show not only engages a child in art, but it also has an impact on the overall development of the child. When playing with puppets, children play their roles, believe in the images of their imagination, experience deep feelings, comprehend moral norms and use and incorporate their rich imagination Making your own puppet is a creative process that changes the child's position from contemplation to being active. Through it, the child is both the narrator, a participant in dialogue and a listener. The creative process of making a puppet shapes the ability to respond adequately to emerging and unfavorable situations and the ability to enter into a new social role corresponding to the moment and the course of events. The place of the puppet and its significance in the child's life is indisputable because it has a hugely positive psychological effect. The puppet created by the children is a personal expression in which they put their soul, specific features, accumulated personal experience, and their emotions. It becomes a friend on whom one can rely and with whom everything can be shared. Some children express themselves just through the puppet. They "talk" through it – it can even say what is forbidden. Puppets are used for training, education and entertainment, for relieving stress and tension in children. The combination of therapeutic and traumatic effect allows a wide application of this type of activity to all ages for any problems. 53
