TRADITIONAL GAMES Examples of games ČVORAK ( Starling ) Children are moving in a circle and holding hands. In the middle is a child ( Starling ) that is blindfolded. At the end all children are standing, and Starling goes to one child and tries to guess by the touch the name of the child. If he can not figure out, his educator can help him with advice. Example of game 8 - Croatia Starling is a bird. (R.S.) I felt curious and I was trying to guess who this friend was. (A. H.) In this game it s nice to sing about a bird called Starling. With blindfold over the eyes we learn to recognize our friends ( in this game called Starling). (O.P.) I feel good and I wasn`t mad that I could not recognize friend the first time. I recognized him by his voice. (J.T.) Example of game 9 - Croatia Kitty goes around Children stand in a circle and put their hands behind their backs. One child holds a small ball in his hands and walks around the circle while the children are singing the Kitty song. When the children stop singing the song the child that was walking around them places a ball into a child's hand and starts to run around the circle. The child that received the ball has to catch the child that placed the ball into his hands. I like this game because I like to run. – Maks 5.5 years old I love this game and i want to play it all the time because it`s fun. - Eli 4 years old The children were very excited to play this game, and it involved the whole group so they are learning to cooperate and work as a group while playing. They wanted to play the game repeatedly. 36
