Building a Dream
In a five-year effort, Oprah Winfrey creates a leadership academy designated for disadvantaged girls in South Africa. Winfrey's motive behind this project was to empower girls so they would have the opportunity to receive an education in hopes they someday lead. The clip displayed, previews the one-hour airing of Winfrey's journey throughout the construction process all the way to the finished production.
The Chicago-based talk show had been an influential platform that had touched the lives of many. The show had addressed both controversial and sensational topics throughout its twenty-five seasons. Winfrey's first show aired nationally September 8, 1986.
May 25, 2011 had been Winfrey's final broadcast. To this day, The Oprah Winfrey Show remains the highest rated daytime talk show in American television history.

in 1998, Winfrey launched Angel Network Foundation. In total, the charity has raised more than $80 million. This has been accumulated from over 150,000 donors. Through such money, the foundation has been able to support efforts to rebuild the Gulf Coast communities, whose homes had been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Another well-known project funded by Angel Network had been the building of fifty-five rural schools within various countries.
