Dear Colleagues,
W
e are happy to bring to you the
latest edition of HP News.
It is routinely communicated to
us that it is our responsibility to
protect the planet we inhabit.
With the increase in focus on conservation,
people have been making little changes to their
lives for the betterment of the planet. From
switching off the lights when not using them, to
shutting off the engines during long halts, steps
towards conservation are being adopted by
people all over.
Among these steps towards conservation were
the Saksham Cylothons organised across the
country by PCRA under the aegis of Ministry of
Petroleum & Natural Gas with the support of Oil
& Gas PSUs. These cyclothons saw thousands
of people across the country come together to
pledge for conservation.
As a Corporation in the business of mobility, an
interesting question that is always facing us is,
what is the future of mobility? This edition of HP
News will bring to you a viewpoint on the same.
We also have a unique CSR initiative on water
conservation that is grabbing eyeballs.
The past few months have seen HPites participate
passionately in various sports. Unique among
these, was the inaugural edition of the Women’s
Cricket Championship which saw large and
enthusiastic participation at HPNE. This edition
covers the event.

The Annual Sports Meet is a much
anticipated event for all HPites, and it draws
the most talented sportspersons across the
country to compete for glory. We bring you
the highlights of the Annual Sports Meet in
this edition.
It is not often that we hear stories so remarkable
that they almost seem unbelievable. One
such story is of our colleague and former
international badminton player Indrajit
Mookerjee. Read more about his life and
how he overcame personal loss and trained
his daughter for success.
The National Photography Contest brought
together the best photographers from across
HPCL to compete in various categories. It
is a treat to see our photographers capture
beauty in the mundane and share with us the
rare moments they were able to capture.
We thank the HP News committee for
their continuous support which they have
provided by taking time out of their busy
schedules.
HP News seeks to provide a platform for the
employees to express their creativity. Be it
prose, poetry, art or photography, there are
a plethora of options available to share your
contributions. We hope you will continue
to do so and help make the magazine
more interesting in the times to come.
Regards,
TEAM PRCC
