Aim: The purpose of this retrospective study is to highlight some important information about the woman's sleep in pregnancy. Review Methods: Extensive review of the recent literature was conducted in electronic database Medline and via the link of the Greek Association of Academic Libraries (HEAL-Link), using the following key words: pregnant women, sleep and pregnancy. Results: Hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy can affect the quality of the woman's sleep in a different way. Although throughout pregnancy sleep patterns change, there are common problems faced by pregnant women, depending on the trimester and body changes, as the fetus grows. The most common problems faced by women during pregnancy are as follows: Invalid position Frequency Burns and indigestion Insomnia Cramps Nausea Snoring Stress Conclusions: The pregnant woman should share her fears and concerns with her partner, gynecologist, girlfriend, or professional psychologist.
