Once Ela opened it, they saw a beautiful image… volcanic peaks pointing to the sky, like they had been planted or drowned there by a human hand.. hot air balloons floating in the air coloring the sky in the most brightful colors… All of a sudden a whirl started around them and they saw themselves rising in the air… What was happening? They were there! Right in that place! CAPPADOCIA was written on some balloons…

” What is this place?”asked Robert, a passer-by.

”It is Cappadocia, can’t you see?” answered the man.

”Where is this magnificent place?” wanted to know Ela” and how was it created?”

“ It is situated in Turkey, Anatolia, on top of a 1000m high plateau and what you see are volcanic peaks!”

“ What about that mountain over there? What mountain is that?”, asked Robert in amazement.

“Oh, that is Mount Erciyes, the tallest in the region, 3,916 m high!”, added the passer-by.

“What about those hot air balloons, the history of the place?”

“The area is a popular tourist destination, as it has many areas with unique geological, historic, and cultural features. Tourist Cappadocia includes four cities: Nevşehir, Kayseri, Aksaray and Niğde. Sedimentary rocks formed in lakes and streams and ignimbrite deposits that erupted from ancient volcanoes approximately nine to three million years ago, during the late Miocene to Pliocene epochs, underlie the Cappadocia region.

The rocks of Cappadocia near Göreme eroded into hundreds of spectacular pillars and minaret-like forms. People of the villages at the heart of the Cappadocia Region carved out houses, churches and monasteries from the soft rocks of volcanic deposits. Göreme became a monastic center in 300–1200 AD.”, explained the man.

Slowly, the whirl started again around them and in a blink of an eye they were back in the bookstore, with the huge old book opened in their hands.
