Course Description

Technology in the classroom is becoming the new teaching tool for both teachers and students. With technology becoming more and more advance daily, it is important that we, as educators, ensure that our students are able to reach their full potential through various integration and resources.

Course Objectives:

Students will apply their knowledge of basic word features, context clues, and word identification strategies to determine meaning, build vocabulary, and achieve fluency:

Student will read a use wide range of strategies and resource to gather information and use variety of writing processes to achieve as they:

•Explore new concepts, and recognize patterns using online or CD-Rom-based interactive resources and educational games.

•Participate and contribute to content-based online projects in small groups (e.g., complete teacher created web-based or web-quests, virtual tours, and online games).

•Post content information (e.g., reading list, assignments, test, and creations) to a classroom website.

•Use digital tools to plan a project research.

•Locate information using teacher-selected digital media (e.g., search engines, bookmarks, and website links).

•Use secure password programs and online accounts to protect personal information.

•Create digital story or report using a word processor or presentation application by importing graphics created in an application.
