Daniel and the Lions’ Den
Daniel went home to his upstairs room. Its windows
opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times
a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks
to God. Some men saw him praying. They said to the king,
“Didn’t you sign an order? For the next 30 days no one
of your people could pray to any god except you. If they
did, they would be thrown into the lions’ den.” The king
answered, “The order must be obeyed.” The men spoke
again: “Daniel doesn’t obey the order. He still prays
to God.”
