Training
River Rescue Mutual Aid Training
The Airports Authority and the water rescue teams from the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services , City of Alexandria Fire and Rescue Department , City of Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department , and the water rescue teams and U . S . Coast Guard participated in evening drills that focused on night operations as well as search and rescue in an urban environment .
Williams Nozzle Training with Fairfax County Fire Department
The Airports Authority Fire Department members and the Fairfax Fire County Department participated in a Williams Nozzle training drill . This particular nozzle can deliver up to 4,000 gallons of water per minute and is used in the event of a fuel-farm tank fire . During this training , the departments collaborated and practiced how to manage the Williams Nozzle .
Metro Training Drill with Fairfax and Loudoun County Fire Departments
In preparation for the opening of the new Dulles Metrorail Station , the Airports Authority Fire & Rescue Department , members of the Fairfax County and Loudoun County Fire Departments participated in a training drill to learn how to work together and communicate effectively with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority , which operates the Metro system , in case of an emergency .
