The Office for Diversity Inclusion and Social Impact also works with the Airports Authority ’ s Office of Supply Chain Management , including the Department of Supplier Diversity , on a variety of initiatives aimed at broadening opportunities for our business partners across the National Capital Region . These efforts include outreach , business opportunity expos and educational events designed to help small and minority businesses better understand and navigate the Airports Authority ’ s procurement process . When our suppliers see themselves represented at the airport , they are more likely to work with us and be successful .
Outreach Certification Compliance
The Airports Authority hosts and participates in many local , state and national supplier diversity outreach events . These events include procurement and supplier diversity professionals , as well as subject matter experts from procuring offices . They are designed to facilitate targeted networking and detailed information-sharing about specific contract opportunities and industry best practices .
The Airports Authority publishes a quarterly procurement forecast that details upcoming contracting opportunities . This forecast , along with current contracting opportunities , is available at https :// www . mwaa . com / business / contracting-opportunities .
A key objective in the Authority ’ s outreach strategy is getting qualified and capable businesses certified to participate in its small business programs . To support this objective , the DSD conducts periodic certification workshops to educate small businesses on becoming certified as DBEs and LDBEs
After firms are awarded contracts through a competitive procurement process , the DSD conducts compliance reviews to monitor small business performance under their Airports Authority contracts and timely receipts of subcontractor payments .
To further enhance compliance with contractual requirements , the DSD conducts compliance training for new contract awardees , including prime contractors and associated subcontractors .
