Waste Minimization Efforts The Airports Authority :
• Increased recycling rates through improved education and outreach to authority personnel .
• Invited an Arlington County Recycling Outreach Specialist to provide Environmental Presentation .
• Co-located trash and recycling containers together with posted signage about what items goes in each container .
• Educated personnel about recycling educational material provided by Arlington County Department of Environmental Services .
• Converted hard copy documents to electronic files for Airports Authority offices .
• Utilized a Bulk scanning service for hard copy documents to electronic file conversion .
• Implemented Cloud storage allowing access to any file and direct uploading of documents to existing digital records .
• Converted our inactive and archived paper documents to electronic form .
• Newly created documents are now in electronic form and are integrated them with our existing digital records .
• Coordinated with Airports Authority departments to review and scrub their current inventory at the off-site storage facility . The overall document storage inventory was reduced by 359 file boxes and 431 feet of container storage space .
