X SUMMER / FALL 2025
Julie Davison, of Julie Davison Photography agrees.“ When a bride books a boudoir session with me to give to her engaged before they are married, they are often nervous and apprehensive, but also excited. But when a bride comes after the wedding for her boudoir session, it is often a little spicier and she is a lot more confident.”
Don’ t worry about being awkward or what to wear- these boudoir professionals can make you feel at ease.“ Often women get caught up in their own‘ selfie camera’ and are not happy with the way they look. But once they see the shots we are able to get in a professional setting, they fall in love with these photos. My mantra is: All bodies are good bodies and my goal is to make you feel confident and comfortable,” says Julie.
Erin Gamble of Gambles Photography encourages women,“ As a bride you have worked so hard to be beautiful on this special day, why not capitalize on your efforts and give him‘ the gift of you’ with a boudoir shoot?!” She has been shooting boudoir photos for over 13 years and encourages brides to bring in something personal of their partner- a jersey, work shirt, undies with their name on them. One of her favorite memories is of a couple who met while rock climbing together. The bride brought in a rock climbing harness and the harness combined with lingerie made for some super sexy, jaw-dropping boudoir photos.
A current trend that can spice things up even more is to have your boudoir photographer print some small, Polaroid style prints of your boudoir session. Next, have your bridesmaids privately sneak these little nuggets of delight to your soon-to-be spouse on your wedding day and have the videographer capture their surprise, embarrassment, and / or excitement at seeing you in these alluring poses. As Shelbie says,“ it is always fun to make the groom a little uncomfortable!” These small snaps are a fun tease of what is in store for him later, as well as a peak at his wedding gift.
Erin also loves this trend. Recently she had a bride come to her for a boudoir session and she wanted a small Polaroid print to give to her love the night before the wedding. Then as a wedding gift, the bride planned to give her new spouce the complete album with all the boudoir photos. As for what to wear in these sessions? Erin says,“ Wear what you feel sexy in! You do not have to follow the trends. Whether you feel sexy in an oversized t-shirt and tall socks or peekaboo lingerie, wear what makes you comfortable in your body.”
Boudoir photos are a timeless reflection of who you are, right now, in this exciting season of life. Whether you keep them in a box, hang them on a wall, or sneak them to your sweetheart, they are a reminder of your beauty and strength. Celebrate this monumental milestone in your life and capture your confident, gorgeous self with a boudoir session!
