LIFE OF THE AFTERPARTY your future weekend plans

You’ re in the process of making a list of your favorite people you want to be at your wedding. Whether or not you host an event big enough to invite every last one of them, the point is you’ re being asked to sit down and really think about who matters most. The humans who’ ve shaped your life in ways big and small— relatives, ride-or-die friends, or that one cousin who always brings your favorite side dish to family dinners.
Your wedding guest list is basically the greatest hits album of your life so far. It’ s going to be amazing seeing everyone, catching up, having them witness your new beginning and celebrate love by your side. There may be happy tears, there will probably be some bad dancing, and it will definitely be unforgettable. But don’ t let this be the last time you send an invite to these incredible people.
Now that you’ ve found your person, it’ s easy to slip into the daily grind and lose touch with the other relationships that helped shape you. But these people? They’ re your history, your biggest fans, and your future weekend plans. Keep those connections strong. Life doesn’ t need flower arrangements or formalwear to bring the crew together. Some of the best memories are made in joggers— playing board games where someone( not just looking at you, Kelle) gets a little too competitive, or standing around a kitchen island debating how many deviled eggs count as“ too many.”
Make space for these moments: monthly dinner parties, annual lake trips, holiday cookie battles. Build the kind of traditions that make people genuinely excited to block off their calendars.
Big or small, planned or spontaneous— these gatherings matter. Whether it’ s a birthday, exciting news, or just a random Thursday when you need a good laugh and a seven-layer dip, these are the moments that build a beautiful life.
Light the grill. Make a playlist. Text the group chat. Keep showing up for each other. That’ s how you’ ll have the best stories to tell at your twentieth anniversary and how you’ ll hold love close, in both the good times and the hard ones.
