In anticipation of our August 6 event on the history of local wine-making family the Gemellos , here ’ s a then and now photo comparison of signage sporting the family name . The 1955 photo shows the sign for the Gemello Winery with a still semi-rural El Camino Real in the distance . The 2011 photo shows signage for the Gemello Village a mixed-use development with retail on the ground floor and housing above at 2043 W El Camino Real that was built on land once occupied by the winery . The nearby Gemello Park and surrounding Gemello Neighborhood also bear the family name .
