survive. Its leaves are so small, they remind me of ipil-ipil leaves. These are designed to prevent
moisture from escaping; this is critical to the survival of the tree especially in the arid African
savannah. Do we wholeheartedly hold-on to the Water of Life so that we can stay spiritually alive?
Or have we found a battery source that will provide us with temporary life even if the quality is
poor?
5. Jacaranda lumber is not strong enough to be used for bridges or homes but the Creator does not
create useless things! You see, what the Jacaranda lacks in brute strength, it SHINES ON thru its
pliable soft wood which is just perfect for building the most exquisite pianos! We may not preach
like the Apostle Paul, lead armies with Deborah, or make the sun stand still like Joshua did. But we
each have God-given abilities! Are we using those to the Glory of God? Or are we using it to glorify
self?
People may judge. They may judge us wrongly. Who cares, right? But He Who gave up ALL of Heaven to
die for us, when He looks into our hearts what will He see? His judgments are never wrong. Will He be
pleased with us as He is with His Jacaranda trees? Will He find the sweet savor of His Holy Spirit in us?
Will God see the character of His Son in us? Something to think seriously about.
T
his issue of CyberFlashes is the 2nd in the series of TOUR OF AFRICA SERIES. On the October 31
2014 issue we “visited” Kenya. Shortly after, four (4) alumni members requested that we do Kenya
again so that they too could share their stories. So today, we are “visiting” Kenya again.
Unfortunately, and for various reasons, those four were not able to write but perhaps next time puhon
they can share their stories. It is our prayer that the same God Who created the Jacaranda and watches
so tenderly over His faithful missionaries will be with you each day as we journey towards our Heavenly
home. Amen.
Our next stop in this Tour of Africa is Tanzania. We would like to invite all alumni who have been to
Tanzania to please share their story! Let your stories be heard (before abuton ta ug age-related kalimot.)
