Alumni News: Retirees’ Celebration
With special thanks to Jerusalem Era
Each month, retired former faculty and staff of Mountain View College gather to celebrate the life of
birthday celebrants that month. They have a special prayer of blessing, a potluck meal, and some games. Or
they sit around and exchange ideas. It was no different on Sunday, January 18, 2015, when they met at
Valencia, Bukidnon, at the home of one of the celebrants. The January birthday celebrants are
NinfaSantosidad, Lerma Jacosalem, Nelson Madriaga, Pat Caballero, and Annie Cartagena.
As soon as Mrs. Jerusalem Era posted the photos in Facebook, former colleagues and friends from around
the world commented on how happy the group looked. Mrs. Era thanked everyone for their “heart-tickling
comments” and displaying her usual wit, quipped that the retirees’ mottos is “BawalMamatay” and their
theme song is, “Never Grow Old.”
The MVC Retirees are actively involved as a group ministering to local churches, visiting them, giving them
encouragement and help, etc. Basically, they stay busy and healthy together. Below are some photos, with
