MARIA CRISTINA FALLS is probably ONE of the famous waterfalls, if not the MOST famous waterfalls, in the Philippines. We all learned about her in our grade school and high school textbooks before some of us even saw her. With the height of 320 feet (98 meters), she is the main source of electrical power for not onlyIligan City and its industries but also for a large portion of Mindanao. Part of the Agus River, the falls is located within the National Power Corporation Nature’s Park 10 kilometers southeast of downtown Iligan City. To visit, you can take a jeepney from the Mindanao Adventist Medical Center to downtown Iligan City for₱7 then another jeep from downtown to Buru-un for₱14. Or you can simply hire a taxi! The entrance fee to the Park is ₱30. Viewing the falls is a day trip that can be a family or group activity. You can bring a picnic from home, buy snacks on site, or enjoy at their viewing restaurant. There are other highlights to see at the Park but the waterfalls is its main attraction. Hope you get to visit soon! Amping! 25 | P a g e Arlene.
