Mustang 101 - 2025 | Page 13

Stevenson students embrace new experiences, reach new heights, and seize numerous opportunities to define their visions of success. From the athletics field to the Mock Trial courtroom, the Mustang spirit thrives.
Offering exceptional experiences in and out of the classroom is part of what makes Stevenson unique.
In the classroom, your professors will teach and encourage you to explore and apply your knowledge by engaging in meaningful discussions, activities, and projects, both individually and in collaboration with your fellow students.
Outside the classroom, you’ ll have multiple opportunities to apply your skills to solve real-world problems— including internships, service-learning, undergraduate research, practicums, study abroad trips, and more.
INDEPENDENT RESEARCH AND CREATIVE WORKS
Pursue independent research courses, capstone experiences, work study, paid positions, or other projects under the mentorship of a SU faculty member or an off-campus mentor. These experiences help you hone your critical thinking, technical, and communication skills, all while you conduct research and create original work in your academic field.
You may even be able to receive financial support to pursue original work in the summer. The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research sponsors the Student Scholarly and Creative Works Summer Grant Program. These grants support students who pursue independent work during the summer under the mentorship of a faculty member.
