Each of our seven professional minors consists of four courses that were carefully selected to provide you with foundational knowledge related to an in-demand discipline or industry outside of your major .
For example , if you are an English major who wants to be technical writer or editor , you might choose the software design and coding minor to gain a competitive edge when applying for jobs in the tech industry . If you want to start a voiceover company , you might combine a theatre major and an entrepreneurship and small business development minor . A Communication Studies or history major planning to enter the non-profit sector may choose event planning or web design as their professional minor .
A Psychology major might choose a human resources minor in order to open doors in that field , a science major who wants to run their own medical practice might choose a management and organizational leadership minor , or a Legal Studies student interested in real estate law might pair a Legal Studies major with a real estate minor .
There are opportunities related to professional minors outside of the classroom , too . The Career Connection Center hosts programming related to professional minors and engages strategic partners to develop sponsored internship opportunities for students in professional minors .
