COMMON WAYS TO INCREASE YOUR TRAFFIC ONLINE

Common ways to increase your traffic/views online are usually related to keeping things honest, consistent and always giving the public the chance to comment from their own viewpoint.

There are several ways you can do this. Including a photo, audio file, video or external links will generate more views as people will see your photo, video, audio or link when they quickly scroll through their newsfeed. That's the key. If you're not a successful band. touring worldwide, selling millions of downloads or albums, most of your audience will only check in on your page on the odd occassion so giving them something to look at or something other than heavily text (straight off) will draw their attention more than just another post.

If you're going to post about something, always ask their opinion or ask them questions. Even if it's just something simple like what's your favourite song off my E.P. or what was the last gig you attended etc... this will invite public interaction where people will think and reply instead of just scrolling through after reading (sometimes, they don't read it properly...gutted right?)

Obviously the chance to give something away for free doesn't come often for unsigned bands or artists who don't bring in a lot of money, so when you get the chance, use it to your advantage for as much as you can. Give the public a reason to share your page, comment and like your posts by using it as a competition to win whatever the free said item is. This is a great way to promote your page for free (almost free).

EVERYONE LOVES A FREE GIFT

If you want more views on your soundcloud, website or another social media page, give them reasons to go on it. Say you are doing an exclusive promo or publication via your soundcloud, website or whatever site you're linking. By saying, I've published free lessons via my lesson or I'm streaming my E.P. before it's release on soundcloud for two days only, this gives people a reason to check out your site now rather than later. If you give your audience a limited time frame (a day, a week or a range of days), you will give them a deadline to check out whatever it is you're streaming or publishing. This is great marketing as people will rather check it out and be disappointed than leave it too late and miss out on whatever it was.

REMEMBER THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE

By giving limited information such as free lessons, streaming of my E.P. before release without any further details people will fluster themselves and check it out just incase they miss the next BIG THING.
