The African American society has overcame many boundaries throughout the history of constant and overwhelming struggle. From captivity to slavery to the civil rights movement of the 1960's and to the even more present struggle concerning the fight against police brutality. Today we have one more achievement to add to the list of many that will also serve as a new milestone in the advancement of the most powerful "minority" race in America. For the first time in the history of the United States of America, We have a black female Attorney General of the United States. Loretta Lynch was sworn in Wednesday (June 17) by Justice Sonya Sotomayor, presiding over the position held previously by Eric Holder. Lynch also made it known that she was using Frederick Douglas' bible for the proceeding also adding, "His life is an inspiration to me."
