We've been discussing the Bobby Shmurda case for a while now and from recent articles from credible sources we have found out the details: the charges, the plea, the bail issue etc. One thing we have yet to discuss is the real issue at hand which is Bobby Shmurda's record label (Epic Records) completely turning their backs on the Hot N**** himself. The DA had the advantage of getting Shmurda's bail set ridiculously high ($2 million) in order to keep him behind bars. In a recent interview with Billboard, Shmurda made it clear that he has only been out for a short amount of time (music wise) and has yet to accumulate $2 million so obviously he cannot afford the total amount of his bail. However, the 10 percent of his bail that can be paid is within his reach but there seems to be a new issue regarding posting his bail every time he has made an attempt.

Besides the issues of the charges the bigger issue here is how record labels use their artists to make money and to sell dreams but as soon as a nightmare turns into reality you cannot even trust the people whom you gave your trust to in return. Bobby Shmurda has been locked up since Dec. 19, 2014 and Epic Records has not made any effort to try to aid Shmurda in his time of need.

Why would they do this? Here's why: When you sign a major label deal, you have to prove that you're worth the amount of money that is to be spent on your career. You have to be highly marketable to be in a winners position. While Bobby is the new hot boy on the block, he has not yet earned enough money for his label to consider him as more than just another artist whose attempting to climb a high ladder with even higher standards. Epic Records has not attempted to pay Shmurda's bail ($2 million) because in the music industry, he is not worth the amount of his bail. So the moral of this story is, never trust your label because when trouble comes your way ... They will turn their backs on you, unless you're worth it.
