Facebook is for family. Twitter is for everything you don’t want mom and dad to know. Instagram tells your life through photography, and well MySpace….it’s still running. But recently more and more social networks have formed as well as applications integrating social networks inside of them. For instance, you can now follow friends and family on Pandora to see what everyone is listening to. One social network has sparked interest all across the world. It’s the one you want your boss to add you on, post your resume to and become instantly networked with people you know and who they know. The way you can do this without posting it on Facebook is called LinkedIn. Launched in 2003, many professionals were uneasy about posting information such as occupation, resumes, and even current job title online. After several years of social networks hosting everyone from sixth graders to grandma and grandpa, people begin to feel comfortable about LinkedIn’s design. It’s the “suit and tie” of social networks. Not only does it serve as a perfect networking tool, it also can help you land that dream job and corner office. Today LinkedIn serves over thirty-six million users that are all linked into new job opportunities. It's a great way to meet top executives, and professionals all over the world.
