In the early 2000s the R&B world saw an emergence of a female trio that would take the world by storm. 3LW. The Epic Records signees rose to fame with their first self titled album 3WL in 2000. The album debuted at number 29 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum selling more than 1.3 million copies in the US. In 2001 3LW also went on to go on tour with MTV Total Request Live Tour along with Destiny Child, Nelly, Dream, Eve and Jessica Simpson. The following year 3LW released their second album A girl can Mack in 2002 which debuted at No.15 and only sold 53,000 copies in it's first week. Close to releasing the second album group member, Naturi Naughton left the group after relationships were strained causing them to move on as a duo until adding new member Jessica Benson in 2003. In 2003, 3LW signed to So So Def after running it's course with Epic records however, they never released another album and ended
up pursuing solo careers.
