On July 25, 2014, It was reported that Meek Mill's attorney made 2 emergency requests for hearings that were both denied; Which resulted in the Philadelphia rapper remaining behind bars. Meek Mill had a hearing set for some time in September but this unfortunate situation caused a push back on the release date of his new, highly anticipated album, Dreams Worth More Than Money; which was initially set to release September 9, 2014. The attorney of Meek Mill filed a writ of mandamus to a higher court ordering the judge over the Philly rappers case to comply with the emergency hearings .. So I think we all can assume that the Dream Chaser camp feels like the judge and the D.A. are playing dirty in order to keep the MMG artist behind bars; and can we blame Meek Mill for suspecting foul play? It's no secret that he has voiced his opinion about the D.A. publicly over and over again; So the possibility of the courts feeling the need to make an example out of a young, successful African American male whose already in the system would not be hard to fathom. Meek Mill was sentenced to jail for 3 to 6 months for violating his parole.
