In an interview with HipHopSince1987, Rich Homie Quan confirmed that Drake will be featured on his debut album. The album has not yet been titled or associated with a release date but we do know that we can expect it to be a success because ... well, do I even have to say it? It's a project by Rich Homie Quan! RHQ caught fire in 2013 with his popular mix tape Still Goin In (Reloaded) and the even more popular single entitled, Feel Some Type of Way. This mix tape was originally released in 2012 and was released again after four new tracks were added to the mix tape; one of the four tracks was Feel Some Type of Way.The mix tape would go on to be named the tenth best mix tape of 2013 by Rolling Stone and the single peaked at No. 50 on Billboards Hot 100. It would go on to be released for sale on iTunes by Def Jam Recordings which persuaded the public to believe that Rich Homie went against his word and signed an album deal but has anybody ever heard of a distribution deal? They do exist people.
In 2013 Rich Homie also released his latest tape. I Promise I Will Never Stop Goin In which was another mile stone in his career by having a mix tape peak at No. 42 on Billboards Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums. His singleWalk Thru featuring Problem can be heard spinning on any radio station, even Pandora Radio. These are all signs of a long, successful career for RHQ; lets keep in mind that he has accomplished all of this without even having an album on his resume. It was reported on May 6, 2014 that during the video shoot for Walk Thru at Atlanta's Piedmont Park that Rich Homie Quan suffered a seizure and cracked his head from falling. Rich Homie later claims that he did not suffer a seizure; he claims the collapse was a result of being overly exhausted and that the fall caused him to hit his face, shooting down the reports that said he cracked his head.
This year alone Rich Homie Quan has been named to the 2014 XXL Freshmen Class, he has been nominated for a BET Award for Best New Artist and right now he is featured on Rich Gang's new track lifestyle along with Young Thug; which sits at No. 74 on Billboards Hot 100. Rich Homie Quan also says his album will have features from Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie and Young Thug. Rich Homie Quan reported that he has already recorded more than a couple of tracks with Toronto rapper, Drake. While on tour with Wiz Khalifa (Under the Influence Tour) Rich Homie Quan linked up with Drake in Toronto and recorded with the OVO CEO at his Toronto home. Rich Homie Quan's stated that his album is now 40 percent complete and he is gearing up for a release in early 2015. I hope everyone has not forgot that he did promise us that he would never stop goin' in.
