Do you feel gender biases are more prevalent in the rock genre than others?
I imagine gender bias is more prevalent in the rock world, especially toward players; however, people are easy to win over if you kill it on stage. They quickly transition from nay-sayers to a huge advocates. I like the challenge.
What role models/inspirations did you have in the industry that made you want to become the successful musician you are today?
My greatest inspiration is U2. They are pioneers, visionaries, musical and lyrical geniuses. Their music transcends rules, genres, formulas...such authenticity can't be mimicked..just expressed
What advice would you give to a girl that felt being female was holding her back And was feeling discouraged to make her debut in the music industry?
I would say believe in yourself. Follow your heart with courage and skill. Always be prepared to give alittle more than the guys.
Have you ever been treated differently because you're a female musician?Do you think people describe your music differently because you're female? (If so , how?) Do you ever find your musicianship described as "sexy" instead of talent-based adjectives?
No & No but our band is male fronted..and I'm pretty aggressive on stage...probably more scary than sexy..hahaha
