What advice would you give to a girl that felt being female was holding her back And was feeling discouraged to make her debut in the music industry?
Don't let being a "female" in this industry hold you back. Embrace it and watch yourself succeed.
Have you ever been treated differently because you're a female musician?
Yes, check question 4.
Do you think people describe your music differently because you're female? (If so , how?) Do you ever find your musicianship described as "sexy" instead of talent-based adjectives?
There are definitely times when I run into people who use terms like "hot" or "sexy" when they talk about my drumming. Also, there are a lot of times I get people who say "you're a great 'girl' drummer", instead of just saying "you're a great drummer". I try not to take offense to these comments because I know they do really mean them as compliments, but it's still a bit frustrating.
Strong, Determined, Diligent.
Originality is not that easy to find anymore, I feel its unique to have a female in the band on any instrument. Do you feel this is originality and uniqueness to your band?
Absolutely. There are more females in the music industry these days, but I still find it harder to find female drummers in our industry, and I think it's a very unique quality to have in a band.
Do you have anything that your fans would be surprised to know about you?
I make the best guacamole in the world.
Anything you want to say to your current or future fans?
THANK YOU! Our fans are some of the kindest people and they are so encouraging. Our fans never fail to put a smile on my face
