The band was formed by Kurt Cobain guitarist and singer, krist Novoselic the bassist and the long lasting drummer Dave Grohl.
After Kurt's death, Dave formed a band called "Foo Fighters".
And Novoselic became a political activist to fight for the musicians rights.
They had success with their second album "Nevermind" that came out in 1991 and they sold 30 million copies.
The Foo Fighters in one of their last albums, with Novoselic wrote a song for Kurt as a tribute, called "I should have known".
The song also says " I cannot forgive you yet", referring to what Kurt made them went through with him returning to drugs, his death and destroying everything they had done together.
