Music & Dance News September/October 2019 Page 9 Polka Lovers Klub of America Gene and I attended the one-afternoon Mu- sicfest at Jackpot Junc- tion July 27th. A very nice crowd and good mu- sic. The fl oor could have been a bit bigger, but not knowing what the crowd would be, they didn’t know how to plan. By the time this issue comes out, the Po.L.K. of A. MusicFest will have come and gone. I hope all of you great dancers were able to at- tend. It is always fun to see friends we haven’t seen for months. Dues are due the month of September. I will be at the fest all three days, so hopefully all will renew, and new people will join us so we can remain the Polka Lovers Klub of Ameri- ca. Hang on to your re- minder cards, as I don’t plan to send out late re- minders. With the price of postage going up and the extra work involved, it will be much easier to keep track of everyone. Thanks to all the members who have vol- unteered their time at this year’s MusicFest to help make it a successful event. Keep cool and dance with a song in your heart. Po.L.K. of A. Secretary Terri Ochsner 2109 Quartz Lane Eagan, MN 55122 (612) 203-7754 (651) 681-0291 Terri Ochsner Hello dancing friends. Summer is here, and it is a rainy and hot one. Our prayers go out to the victims of the fl ood regions. My husband and I have been dancing at the Pla-Mor Ballroom in Glencoe, MN. June 2, Leon Olson played; June 9, Stan’s Country Dutch- men; June 23, Barefoot Becky; and July 21, The Rhythm Playboys. All dances take place from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Great bands and dance fl oor. We also attended Pol- ka Spotlight TV show MCN 6, which airs every second Saturday of the month at 12:30 p.m. June 8, the Squires played. The TV show is aired on Cable channel 6, or on the internet at noon every day. They have a lot of good polka bands. My husband plays the accordion, and he got to play on radio KCHK July 7, New Prague, MN. Tom Goetzinger is the general manager. He loves to play, and it was a great experience for him. July 12-14 we were in Laramie, WY for a Ju- bilee. Of course, I had alterative motives. They were honoring the West- ern show, “Laramie,” for 60 years, with my teen idol, Robert Fuller. The show started Sept. 15, 1959. Stay safe, and I would like to meet you. Keep on dancing. Po.L.K. of A.
