From day-one and
continuing to this day,
the station has played
old tyme or polka music,
while being a valuable
source for local news
and information.
Over the years, in ad-
dition to polka music, it
has played country and
oldies rock-and-roll, and
that is the music variety
which airs today.
Cake was served at KCHK radio’s 50th anniversary
dance in November in New Prague, MN.

Sept. 26, 1969, the
community of New
Prague, MN and the sur-
rounding area welcomed
a new radio station,
which continues to be of
service one-half century
later.
It was on that date,
KTMF (now KCHK)
went on the air at 1350
AM.
The initial call letters
of the station were de-
rived from the names of
the first owners.
