Bandwagon attracts crowds
The Kato Ballroom,
200 Chestnut Street in
Mankato, MN, ended the
year strong with Dain’s
Dutchmen playing for a
crowd of more than 250
people for the December
Bandwagon.
Many had a great
time, as the band played
past its normal end time
of 9:30 p.m., and even
had a couple of surprise
guest concertina players.
To everyone’s delight,
Kris Keltgen from the
Riverbend
Dutchmen
joined the band for a
couple of numbers, as
well as concertina player, Adam Munsterman
from St. James, MN;
and Steve Rewitzer from
Cortland, MN.
Steve and Dain went
so far as to actually play
the concertina over their
heads.
Steve is also known
to play on occasion with
Leon Olsen.
Kris Keltgen will be
back with the Riverbend
Dutchmen in July this
year.
The turnout was particularly good, given the
amount of snowbirds
who have left the area
and the cold weather.
