John Gauntner is recognised as the world’s leading non-Japanese sake expert. A resident of Japan
since 1988, he is well known in the sake industry as the window to making sake understandable
and popular outside of Japan. He has been writing and lecturing about sake since 1994, beginning
with an eight-year stint writing the “Nihonshu” column in the Japan Times, followed by a weekly
column on sake in Japanese for the Yomiuri Shimbun. John has published six books on sake across
two languages, hundreds of articles on the topic, publishes a free monthly newsletter and offers
various digital products that make sake easily understandable. John is the only non-Japanese
certified Master of Sake Tasting in the world and has also achieved the very difficult Sake Expert
Assessor certification from Japan’s National Research Institute of Brewing. In 2006, he was awarded
the Sake Samurai designation for helping to promote sake and sake culture around the world.

Anna Greenhous works freelance in the drinks’ trade presenting wine and sake tastings for
L’Atelier des Chefs cookery schools, writing about sake freelance including regularly for
Harpers (UK drinks trade magazine) and other publications, doing wine research for Tim
Atkin MW, IWC Sake judging, drinks PR, promotions and tasting event management
Previously, she presented wine and sake tastings for Vinopolis, the Sake Sommelier
Association and on the London Eye. Anna judged sake at the International Wine Challenge
in 2009 and 2015. Anna holds the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Advanced Certificate
with Distinction and is also a qualified teacher.

Richie is a world-renowned musician and DJ. Playing to crowds of thousands of fans, Richie has
been a music icon since the late-1980s and still continues to push the frontiers of music, art, and
technology today. Richie has also been a devoted sake connoisseur for over twenty years since
he first traveled to Japan in 1994. He has earned the Advanced Sake Professional Certification
and was made an official Sake Samurai by the Japanese Sake Brewers Association in 2014 for his
efforts in promoting sake abroad. He continues to use his influence to open up young audiences
to new cultural experiences through his performances and ENTER. shows worldwide. ENTER.
Sake is a boutique sake collection curated by Richie through his travels in Japan. ENTER.Sake
is beginning a new phase to bring its sake collection to restaurants, bars, and wine stores across
the USA and Europe.
