the carving of the raven and the men by Andrew Friesen One day in Hawaii these Samoan warriors were sipping on some tea, when all of a sudden a raven came over a mountain. This raven had a sea shell in it’s claw. The raven dropped the sea shell on the beach and the shell cracked open and thousands of men came out with knives and swords. The Samoan warriors rushed out with their spears and started to slaughter the men and put the men’s heads on sticks. The men started to retreat and found these canoes and canoed to another island and settled on that island. Two years later the men went back to the island where they had their battle, they went and found that the shell that they had came out of was gone. They went to go find the shell and they did but it was cut up into different pieces. The Samoan warriors had made it into expensive jewelry and the men got pissed off and waged war on the Samoan warriors again and killed them all this time. They put the remaining s hell on display on the beach as a carving. And their following generations looked after the carving until they made a museum about their people on that location. They put the carving of the raven and the men as the main display. Until this day it’s on display. The Carving of the Raven and the Men, read by Atticus Hare, 2013.
