Q . Being a prominent and busy singer , how did you come to be a Dubbing artist ?
A . There was an Engineer called Karthik in Rahman sir ’ s studio , who once asked me to go and do a voice test for Sillunu Oru kaadhal . He said that they were looking out for a new voice and I told him , I don ’ t have a heroine ’ s voice and it was not the usual tingly high pitched typical feminine voice that I had and also told him my apprehensions about it working . He said for whatever it is worth why don ’ t you go and give it a try . I did and then poor Krishna sir , struggled a lot with me because I couldn ’ t cry on demand or laugh on demand .
I have mainly dubbed for Samantha - I have dubbed 98 % of her films in Telugu . I have dubbed for Tanisha Mukherjee in Unnalae Unnalae , Kangana Ranaut , and Lekha Washington . For Samantha recently in 24 , Kajal Agarwal in Mattraan , Tamanna and also Rakul Preeth ’ s Telugu film called Sarainodu , Lavanya Tripathy , and Sameera Reddy in Gautham Menon sir ’ s films .
