y Dhan) November 2016 Hi, this is Suchitra and Welcome to Museek Mag. On early days of childhood ... I was born in chennai but i grew up in Kerala. My dad used to work in Trivandrum and for a while in Ernakulam as well. So, I grew up in Kerala , in large lonely houses with hardly any neighbors . I used to play alone in the backyard and build my own little houses and do my own things. A lot of people may not know this, but I’m quite introverted by nature. (Giggles) I think Mr.Selvakumar knows it . I have been the shyest person he’s had to work with in front of the camera and I think that came from the childhood in a state or rather a place which was full of greenery , hardly any people and I had to be myself and do my own things . How and when did Music touch you? whatsoever .I am attempting to learn the guitar now so let’s see how that goes . The beginning of your career… I moved into chennai after I finished post graduation to start working . I started working in this Advertising agency called Ogilvy and Mather . I then moved on to Sify.com for a bit in an editorial position and then to Radio Mirchi . This entire career path happened in Chennai for me . There is really nobody else I should thank other than Mr.Timothy Madhukar (Timi as we like to call him and he likes to called) . I guess I met Keith uncle , Jim Sathya , Music got into my life a little bit in School . I studied in Bharathi Vidhya Bhavan and were a lot of competitions . At that point , for patriotic songs and things that children were encouraged to sing , I was sent by my teachers to participate in group singing competitions. (it was because I used to literally volume wise be able to outsing everybody) So that’s where the interest in music started really but what got me inextricably drawn to music was the album thriller that my dad had bought for me , when I was a kid . It was a small cassette . I have a feeling that it was a duplicate cassette because I know how the cassette inside jacket looks and it was , I think a photo copy paper but - My Goodness! I played the tape to death and I think that really got me into music .No formal education in music 31 www.museekmag.com
