July 17 July 17 very underappreciated work by Illayaraja, the two non- film albums he did which are called “How to name it” and “Nothing but Wind”. Both are astonishing achievements of fusion, sound engineering and conceptional ideas & incredible melodies. It is an essential one to listen to the ones who are interested in learning more about Indian Music with western concepts. And another composer who is very close to my heart where most people don’t know about is Mr Vanraj Bhatia who has done incredible scores for films and done amazing work even in the non- film territory. There are many people to talk about, but these are few of them. MM: Who are the legends whom you feel they have changed the path of Indian Music and how it affected you in becoming a Music Director? Ram: Talking about the legends of Indian Film Music who changed the path, let me talk about the non-film Music Composers primarily.
