ALIX
VOZ
A
lix is a books and barbells kind of
lady! She is both an Art History
professor and a fitness coach.
At the surface there may not appear
to be a lot in common with that mix, but
for Alix, the two worlds connect more
than they collide. She is passionate about
teaching art history and fitness. She built
VozFitness and AV-Curator as platforms
to be able to share about her two diverse
passions.
Alix was motivated to start her fitness
journey so that she could take her long
history of competitive energy from
gymnastics and redirect it into herself. This
was a personal journey and therapeutic,
but it morphed into sharing and motivating
others. The hurdles and challenges that
she has encountered in fitness have forced
her to grow and adapt, which has proven
valuable for her teaching profession.
Mental toughness, working well under
pressure, self-discipline and organizational
skills have been well honed along both of
Alix’s career paths.
Alix’s fitness journey has also helped
her be a better coach to her clients. Her
personal experience along the competitive
path has allowed her to connect more
closely and lead by example as a coach. She
is surrounded by a great support system
and values the importance of keeping a
tight circle of friends in order to control
her surroundings and ensure that she is
spending her time with positive and like-
minded people.
Alix has been training for three
years and already has a solid roster of
competitions under her belt. She has two
first place finishes in Bikini at regional
comps and her most recent impressive 6th
place finish at the 2018 Pro Qualifier has
her making plans to take the stage at the
Arnold next year. Beyond her focused work
ethic, she credits her new coach, Gil Ansah
who has more recently, had a substantial
impact on her fitness journey. “His
knowledgeable and genuine support and
guidance inspires me on and off stage.”
