“ I’ M CARVING OUT THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!”

He’ s the ex-bad boy known for his penchant for partying, but there’ s so much more to Calum Best than meets the eye.

As he preps to get into the best shape of his life and turns his attention to new and exciting fitness-related business ventures, I took some time out with him to find out what we can expect next.
Calum, we’ ve seen you working out quite a bit lately. Have you gone from party animal to fitness fanatic? Yes! I gave up my party animal ways many years ago. I did have a laugh don’ t get me wrong, but it got me nowhere health wise, business wise, or reputation wise. So, I made a conscious effort to change my life for the better. I started back in the gym and playing football which I love. I also do boxing, spin, and practice better mindful living.
How many times a week do you currently train, and what sort of training are you doing? I train pretty much daily, as it keeps me sane and into a routine. I train

using weights, but to keep my heart healthy I do a fair bit of cardio too.
What are your strongest and weakest body parts? My strongest body part is my shoulders. In fact, I’ ve had to cut back on the work I do on them, as I was starting to look a little out of proportion. My weakest areas are my legs and calves.
Are you happy with your body‘ overall’? My brain plays a lot of tricks on me. I’ m convinced I suffer from body dysmorphia. I can never be happy with‘ what is’- I always want to better it. This can be a healthy attitude for business, but it’ s not healthy for the body and mind. But over all I suppose I do feel good about myself.
Who’ s your ultimate body idol? I don’ t have a body idol, I just crack on and do what I can do to feel and look my best. I try to be my own inspiration and I’ ve come a long way.
What’ s your favourite cheat food? Chinese by a million miles!
What sort of foods form the foundation of your daily diet? I was raised in a healthy household, so I’ ve always been very knowledgable on what’ s good and nutritious and what’ s not. I try to eat mostly organic produce containing little or no pesticides. I love fruit, veg, chicken, and grains and eat a lot of these types of foods. My problem is my addiction to sugarno joke the cravings are strong!
What can we expect from you next? Next I have a fitness journal coming out to follow on from my BestMeLife journals. The body and mind have to work together and I’ ve taught myself to be mindful in order to enhance my physical wellbeing. I am also starring in a new film and a new tv show. The thing I am perhaps most excited about though is my upcoming charity boxing match on March 23rd, and starting an 8-12 week fitness programme to reach my best shape yet! @ mrcalumbest
