and has recognised the
Housekeeping function in recent
years by rewarding team efforts
with an award created and sponsored
by us in conjunction with Considerate
Hoteliers. Devised in 2014, this award
acknowledged the Housekeeping Team who
went beyond the call of duty to achieve
more eco friendly practices and to push
the hotel’s environmental boundaries.
Aslotel followed this in 2016 by sponsoring
the much-coveted AA Housekeeper of
the Year Award, which last year was
presented to Nan McDowell of Crewe
Hall (pictured below). We intend to
continue this recognition of the essential
work that Housekeepers devote to the
smooth running of guest accommodation
throughout this year.
Aslotel, as a company whose business is
to supply bedroom and bathroom equipment
and exclusive toiletries to the hospitality
sector, recognises that the Housekeeping
role is pivotal in forward planning and
continuous upkeep of bedrooms and
public areas. In our sphere of operation,
we regularly meet Housekeeping Teams to
discuss their requirements and to advise
how best to achieve their ultimate vision for
the hotel environment so we know at first-
hand how much planning and hard work
there is to achieve this. We talk a lot about
the guest experience and the guest journey,
and so forth, but a great guest experience
can only be the result of the attention to
detail from Housekeeping Teams to uphold
impeccable standards.
As part of that process, we appreciate the
importance of maintaining high standards
within guest accommodation. As suppliers

as Ascolia, a company that has invested a
great deal of research and development into
easily manoeuvrable, aesthetically pleasing
and beautifully designed carts and trolleys
for public areas and Sunbeam, whose irons
are manufactured to the highest standard
and that have a variety of well thought out
features tailor-made for hotel life. We also
work with Safemark In-Room Digital Safe
Systems, selected as the safe of choice
by major international hotel companies
and Indel B whose minibars
are award winning, Italian
designed with a compressor
system that is leading the
way in energy efficiency. These companies
plus many others that we work with are
evolving on a constant basis to innovate
and create products that help our clients
to achieve the ultimate guest experience.
Aslotel is very pleased that Housekeeping
Teams are recognised with a new dedicated
publication and a medium that is totally
focussed on Housekeeping Management
with informed articles and the opportunity to
express views, concerns, and opinions in an
industry that is exciting, often challenging
but ultimately rewarding.
