LONDON HEATHROW MARRIOTT FIRST HOTEL IN GROUP
TO LAUNCH PROJECT SEARCH INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
H London Heathrow Marriott Hotel has
announced a partnership with Project
SEARCH in a bid to deliver an exciting new
internship programme for young people
with learning difficulties.
As the first Marriott in the UK to
announce such a partnership, the four-
star property is working with Meadow
High School, Hillingdon Council, Prospects,
the Centre for British Teachers and the
Education Trust to bring a wealth of new
opportunities to young adults in the area.
Ten young people aged between 17 and
23 from the Hillingdon area have been
chosen as the first to experience the
hotel’s internship programme, gaining
skills in various different areas of the
business including Housekeeping, Food and
Beverage, Engineering, Sales, Conference
and Banqueting.
Project SEARCH was established in
1996 in the Emergency Department of
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Since then,
it has grown to over 250 sites across five
countries, taking the classroom into the
workplace and enabling young people with
learning difficulties to spend their final
year in education gaining experience in the
work place.
Speaking about the partnership, Ron
Vos, General Manager at London Heathrow

competitive, transferable and marketable
skills in a reputable business.

independence, confidence and self-esteem

can help them achieve.”
