He is graduated from Yildiz Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has always been interested in theatrics and started his acting career in 1999 but his career took off in 2003 with a small part in the series Ölümsüz Ak.
His interest in music and theatre started early on in his life which led him to join the drama department of his high-school.
As a student, Yildirim played drums in a band.
His father was a teacher. When his father was preparing school plays, he only cast his son once in a minor role.
