Ontario Power Generation has started refurbishing the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. The refurbishment and Darlington’ s continued operation for 30-plus years is great news for Ontario’ s economy and the environment:
• $ 89.9 billion boost to the provincial GDP
• 14,200 jobs per year
• $ 11 billion in exports
• $ 13 billion in municipal, provincial and federal government revenues, and
• Will reduce greenhouse gas emissions the equivalency of removing 2 million cars off the road each year.
