Summer is upon us , and many exciting projects and programs come with the season . We appreciate your participation in our programs , facilities , and parks . I ' d like to give a big thanks to you and to our employees for the support that has helped us transition exceptionally well through the last two years of the pandemic .
As the weather warms up , our special outdoor events get underway .
We have events for all ages and even for our canine friends . I hope you will join us for Concerts in the Park , Beach Bash , Freedom Classic 5K , Margaritaville Night , Adult Bingo , Doggy Dip , Mundelein Arts Festival , Daddy Daughter Dance , and more .

When you visit the Mundelein Community Center , please note our new signs installed throughout the building that display our partnership with RUSH Physical Therapy .
The Park District will continue planning to determine priorities over the next five years . It is a lengthy and comprehensive process taking over a year . Here are some projects that help us advance our District forward :

• We are applying for an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant ( OSLAD ) at Longmeadow Park . This grant will allow for improvements to the playground and walking paths and the addition of a half court basketball court , nature trails , fishing station , and gaga pit .
• We are receiving Leo Leathers Park feedback to determine which amenity to install or construct in the open area adjacent to the playground .
• Recreation Way at Keith Mione Community Park will undergo a paving project .
• We will install fencing at Keith Mione Community Park Basketball Courts .
• Paint Kracklauer Gazebo .
• Construct a new path under the Kracklauer Park sign .
• Improve Big & Little Child Development Center rooms and new carpeting .
• Purchase spin bikes for the Health & Fitness Center .
• Install sound panels in Mundelein Community Center Gymnasium in Partnership with RUSH Physical Therapy .
• Begin our process to obtain state-wide accreditation in 2023 .
